WHO WE ARE
Natural Formations, Inc. manufactures commercial quality case goods and seating for the hospitality and health care industries. We offer running lines of hotel guest room furniture and custom furnishings for resorts, as well as furnishings for assisted living and health care facilities.
Natural Formations, Inc. began in 2000 in San Diego, CA. The principal, Michael Scott, came from a background in commercial furniture manufacturing that began 10 years before the founding of NFI, where he was responsible for the hotel division of a Seattle based commercial furniture manufacturing company. In 2007, the growing company moved its headquarters to Boise, ID, where the company is currently operating. The manufacturing facilities are located in Asia, where company personnel manage quality control and production.
We make high value furniture that is built to last at a price that conforms to most 3 and 4 star hotel budgets. We hope to earn your business with our high value furniture, and to keep your business with our excellent customer service.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
Better Service. We provide a higher level of service than our competition by superior communication through your order process. For any custom furniture, we provide confirming drawings, and photos of the pre-finished product prior to production.
Our quality control team follows a rigid ISO9001:2008 standard to assure that each piece meets and exceeds your expectations. We provide incentives to our team for 100% quality every time. After the sale, we follow up with on-site assistance to help with any damage that may have occurred in transit. Natural Formations handles all freight damage, and also provides a touch up kit to help your staff keep your furniture looking new for many years.
We are a family owned business that believes our word is our bond. We understand that we exist to serve our customers, and not as some believe, the other way around. That is why we have enjoyed excellent long term relationships with our valued customers. We view our role as that of a partner, and not just a vendor.
Better Furniture. “Quality” is a word that is often misused when referring to furniture. When we refer to our quality, we mean that the materials meet and exceed all industry standards, and the workmanship is of a consistently high standard. In short, we strive to exceed your expectations. That is why we use full extension, ball-bearing drawer glides, additional support and corner blocking where needed, and a premium polyurethane finish, which exceeds the performance of all catalyzed lacquers (the industry standard). Fabrics and foam materials are flame retardant in compliance with California TB117 code.
With broad capabilities in construction, materials and finishing combined with years of experience, there are not many furniture items that we cannot build. Please consult our web site for some of our recent projects.
Better Prices. Because we are family owned, and do not have a large corporate structure
to support, we can provide higher quality at very competitive prices. We have several manufacturing facilities, each with their own strengths, to better serve your needs and stay within your budget. We are confident that we have the best value in hospitality and health care furniture in the industry, period!
ABOUT OUR ASIAN PARTNERS
Natural Formations has established partnerships with several Asian firms that make furniture to our specifications, and with our personnel in daily attendance overseeing the quality control. The employees of these factories are paid above average wages, and typically have been employed for many years at the same plant. They and their families are a vital part of our company, and they are treated as such.
The facilities are state-of-the-art, utilizing plantation grown or certificated lumber, and they are making furniture specifically for the hotel market. They are highly skilled workers, and they receive on-going training in new materials and techniques that help us provide better products and higher quality.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS
We believe that it is the responsibility of manufacturers to make every effort to protect our environment. From the outset of our company, we have been diligent to “do no harm” to the health and welfare of our customers, employees, and the natural environment through the production of our furniture products. Whenever possible, we prefer to use “natural” products (wood, metal and stone), but whenever processed materials are used, we choose products made by environmentally sound companies.
All furniture raw materials are certified by the appropriate NGO's and government agencies where lumber has been harvested in natural forests. Normally, plantation grown lumber is used, which needs no certification. Natural fibers, such as sea grass, rattan, and hibiscus root is grown and harvested from local plantations, supporting the local merchants. Processed wood products all comply with US and European standards.
